My Perspectives
Here are some concepts that serve me well. I am in no way suggesting that these ideas are true or false. They have simply proven to be wonderful guides in helping me shape my life.
We are each the co-creators of our life.
We are constantly creating. We can't help it. It's our nature. We're either living by design or we're living by default. Through our thoughts. Our words. And our actions.
Most of the time we go through life on cruise-control, not realizing the direct impact we have on how our lives turn out.
Thankfully, we have freedom of choice. We have a say. We can always change our minds.
The trick is to become aware of where we put our attention. And practice those things that give us what we most want.
We draw to us that which we give our attention.
In other words…Law of Attraction. The idea that everything we have in our life is a vibrational match.
Say you want to listen to country/western music. But you are not tuned into a radio station that is broadcasting that particular music. You will receive something else. That is not to say that the country/western music you desire is not out there. It is simply means that the music you are wanting is on a different frequency.
If we are not happy with some aspect of our life, perhaps we need to look at where we are putting our attention. What vibration (feelings) are we transmitting that is causing us to attract certain people or situations to us in the first place? Good or otherwise.
Our most rewarding experiences come from fully expressing our gifts.
We each have innate talents. When fully realized and practiced, these gifts are the foundation for an extraordinary life. A life filled with Joy. Passion. Fulfillment.
Sadly, little emphasis is placed on discovering and developing our true gifts. Equally missing, in many cases, is a supportive environment. One that encourages our fullest expression. As such, many “live lives of quiet desperation” as Henry David Thoreau was so apt in pointing out.
The good news is that we can live an extraordinary life. We just need to be clear about who we really are. What we really want. And be willing to take actions based on those insights. (My magic formula...Insight + Action = Experience.)
We are each motivated by our own self interests.
The only reason we do anything is that we see an opportunity for ourselves. This is not necessarily a bad thing. At first glance this idea may seem self-serving. And, it is. Everything is self-serving.
Take trees. They put down roots drawing all the water and nutrients they need to grow healthy and strong. Never mind the other trees and plants around them.
It would be easy to say that trees are indeed selfish. Yet we humans benefit from what trees provide. Oxygen. And we give in return what trees need. Carbon dioxide. Each contributing to the other.
For good or ill, we are all self-serving. It is nature’s way.
It is when we take more than we give back that problems arise. As humans, we have freedom of choice. May we always remember to choose wisely.
We are each doing the best that we can based upon our understanding, our beliefs.
Our reality is based upon our beliefs. The world, as we know it, is a reflection of those beliefs.
In most cases we do not think. We merely have thoughts. And those thoughts are based upon past experiences. Or things we have been told.
And it is through those beliefs that we make our choices. Rarely questioning if those choices are sound.
So don't bother asking a fish about water. Unless it has been out of the water, it will have no reference point. And therefore have no clue what you are talking about.
